Dr. Hunaid Nasir Rana is a dedicated interventional and diagnostic radiologist committed to delivering exceptional patient care. A Texas native, Dr. Rana graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas Pan American and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch.

He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of South Alabama, where he served as Chief Resident and pursued the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) Pathway. Following his residency, Dr. Rana completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center.

As an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist, Dr. Rana plays a crucial role in both diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. Diagnostic radiologists are experts in interpreting medical images like X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds to accurately diagnose illnesses, injuries, and other health issues. They work closely with other physicians to guide clinical decisions and treatment planning, ensuring that patients receive precise and timely diagnoses.

Dr. Rana specializes in the treatment of superficial venous disease, focusing on conditions like varicose veins, spider veins, chronic venous insufficiency, venous ulcers, venous thrombosis and thrombophlebitis. He employs a variety of advanced, minimally invasive procedures to provide effective and long-lasting results. These include:

Venous Sclerotherapy: A procedure where a sclerosing solution is injected into the affected veins, causing them to collapse and eventually be absorbed by the body. This treatment is particularly effective for smaller varicose veins and spider veins, providing cosmetic and symptomatic relief.
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA): A technique that uses heat generated by radiofrequency energy to close off larger varicose veins. This minimally invasive procedure is performed using a catheter, offering a quicker recovery and less discomfort compared to traditional surgery. RFA is effective in reducing symptoms like pain, swelling, and heaviness in the legs.
VenaSeal therapy is a state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins that uses a medical adhesive to close affected veins and reroute blood flow to healthier ones. VenaSeal therapy is performed without the need for heat, making it a comfortable option with a quicker recovery time and minimal post-procedure restrictions. This innovative technique enhances patient comfort and improves overall outcomes, making it an excellent choice for those seeking effective varicose vein treatment.

With a strong focus on patient safety and a dedication to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, Dr. Rana is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care to every patient. In his free time, he loves playing basketball, exploring new places with his wife and reading history books. Dr. Rana is enthusiastic about bringing his expertise in radiology to the community, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care.
